COMPANY PROFILE

Interail was established in 2002 to create a vehicle for QR to expand its operations interstate and to provide a mechanism to gain market credibility as a truly national player. It fulfilled this objective very well, being the catalyst for QR’s entry into the Hunter Valley coal operation. Since that time the QR Group of Companies has expanded, and Interail has cemented its position as a cornerstone of the national expansion of the group.

Interail supports the following key activities:

• Transporting domestic coal by rail from Duralie mine to Stratford Colliery north of Newcastle;

• Transporting domestic coal by rail from Newstan mine to Vales Point Power Station south of Newcastle;

 • Transporting export coal by rail from Hunter Valley mines to the Port of Newcastle;

• Transporting containers by rail between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne; and

• Maintenance of some interstate Rollingstock at the Casino Maintenance Depot.

Interail will "drive" competitive and innovative train operations to support the national expansion of the QR Group of Companies.
